Now more than ever, schools need practical hands-on IT support. Teachers have had to become IT administrators as well as facing technical challenges such as - out of date equipment and limited budgets. As a parent of two school going children I understand the problems facing schools today. Many companies will sell you software or hardware, it's the putting everything together thats missing. Below are some of the services I offer to schools.
UP TO DATE LAPTOPS AND PCS FOR TEACHERS.
Installation and set up of laptops and PCs for teachers. Ensuring the set up is secure and optimised for the applications teachers need to run. If your school doesn't have budget for new equipment I can look at improving the current hardware. There are some steps you can take and simple hardware upgrades that can make a big difference.
EDUCATIONALÂ APPLICATION SETUPS
Installation, setup and training on the latest education application suites such as Google for Education, Seesaw, Microsoft Education. These applications are specifically designed with schools in mind. In many cases licenses are free for educational use.
EXTENDED WIFI ACROSS ALL SCHOOL BUILDINGS.
Is your school's wifi not consistent across all school buildings ? Wifi can be extended across all classrooms through the use of extender devices. I can analyse your current setup and recommend the best placement of your wifi routers and extenders to make your signal consistent in every room.
COLLABORATIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENTÂ AND SECURE FILE SHARING.
Schools and staff have a lot of documentation to share, and also a lot of documentation to keep private. The most secure way to do this is to use Microsoft 365 Sharepoint. Access can be tailored to your needs. This also allows the set up of proper email accounts for teachers and Microsoft Teams, and full use of the Microsoft Office suite. Access is possible from school and remotely.
OPTIMUM USE OF YOUR IN SCHOOL NETWORK.
Because schools are sometimes spread across different buildings, prefabs, and offices etc, this can often lead to the setup of separate networks. I would propose reconfiguring these networks so that seamless connectivity to devices such as printers, electronic whiteboards, ipads etc is possible.
SECURITY
Possibly one of the most important services I offer. Schools strive every day to keep students secure not just physically but also in the virtual world. I have many years experience configuring firewalls and security applications to keep children safe online.

BACKUPS
The importance of backups is not fully realised until you need to restore a lost file. Accidental deletion, ransomware, hardware failures, unfortunately occur all the time. I will set up a secure backup system, keeping your data safe and giving peace of mind.
COMPLIANCE
Schools also need to adhere to GDPR guidelines. There can be a lot of work involved in implementing GDPR compliance, especially if its the first time.  I have experience in this area and can guide, advise and set up a GDPR compliant document store.
